SAFEGUARDING ALL GOD'S CHILDREN

SAFEGUARDING AT SAINT MARY'S

At St Mary's we're committed to keeping people safe, and enabling everyone to use our which is accessible to all. The chapel area has chairs which means it is easy for anyone in a wheelchair to sit where they wish. We also have disabled toilets and a loop hearing system for those who need it.

We work within the safeguarding guidelines of the Diocese of Newcastle and the Church of England, adopting the National Safeguarding Policy Promoting a Safer Church. Our own safeguarding policy can be viewed by clicking here. All of our members who work with children / young people or vulnerable adults are required to complete a confidential declaration, have references, a DBS check where appropriate, and attend safeguarding training provided by Newcastle Diocese.
